Holiday home with spectacular views

Holiday homes above the Kaprun valley

The Landhaus Lodges Kaprun have the most spectacular views over Kaprun. There is nowhere with a better view than the sunny side of Kaprun valley. These spectacular views stretch from the Kitzsteinhorn to Kaprun Castle and the Zeller Basin. Guests have a great choice: a holiday home in the centre or a holiday home on the hillside with spectacular views. The good news: we have both. The centre, as well as the ski slope, is only a few minutes’ walk away. We provide all of this in a great hillside location above the hilltops of Kaprun. Hillside Holiday Home

All holiday homes at Landhaus Kaprun have a balcony. The terrace and swimming pool can be accessed from all apartments. The Thomas and Franz apartments also have direct access to the sun terrace beside the pool. The highlight of the house is the Infinity Pool. You move easily, floating through the water, while you can see the peaks of the nearby mountains.

Hours of Sunshine in Kaprun

Sunny mornings are guaranteed with the westerly hillside location. Our guests like to have breakfast on their balcony‘s or go for a morning swim in the pool. If you prefer to cycle instead of swim, see our tour ideas for cycling holidays in Kaprun here. In winter, the sun sets earlier in the day behind the Maiskogel. But in June, the house gets more than 8 hours of sunlight.

View of the surrounding mountain peaks

The mountain view of Landhaus Lodges Kaprun is really unique. There are eight mountain peaks in the area. The rocky edges of the Kitszteinhorn stand wonderfully in the background. Kapruner Horn is probably the best-known of the many famous mountain peaks of the Kaprun Valley. Fancy a hike? Here are our tips for a hiking holiday in Kaprun. Also, we have a list of the mountain ranges that can be seen:

Viewpoints around the holiday home

Schaufelberg

The twisting roads from the cottage are narrow going up Schaufelberg. Thankfully, there are some shortcuts on foot. After about 40 minutes, you reach “Eisbär” après-ski umbrella. There is a path facing Vorderweißstein which offers views of the valley. The climb to Stangerbauer is even more beautiful, with a view from the Zell basin to Oberpinzgau. Great views guaranteed!

On the way back to Landhaus, turn right after “Eisbär”. There you can walk along a trail towards the forest. After this steep descent, you will reach Ortlehenweg, which will bring you straight back to the holiday home. Tip: When you get to Ortlehenweg, you can admire a historic bread oven.

Top of Salzburg on the Kitzsteinhorn

The Top of Salzburg‘s viewing platform can be accessed via an approximately 350-metre-long tunnel from the summit station Kitzsteinhorn. The see-through platform towers majestically over the southern edge of the Kitzsteinhorn into the Hohe Tauern National Park. The amazing view extends from the spectacular Großvenediger range to Austria’s highest mountain, the Großglockner. But these are only two of the most famous mountain peaks in a vast area of 3,000-metre mountains.

On the way back through the glaciers, make a stop at the “National Park Gallery”. There, the National Park Rangers explain the formation of the glaciers to our guests and tell them interesting facts about the Hohe Tauern National Park.

All the details about the Top of Salzbug‘s viewing platform can be found here.
